The Express Eventing Series 2011
Express Eventing – the spectacular, exciting and fast-moving version of eventing – is delighted to stage its 2011 Final at Horse of the Year Show on Tuesday 4th October.
The Express Eventing Series 2011 Final is your chance to witness all the drama, skill and excitement of traditional eventing condensed into a dynamic, proven compact, arena-based version of the sport.
Some of eventing’s most well-known international names – the very best competitors from the four Express Eventing Qualifiers staged this summer throughout the country – will be battling it out at Horse of the Year Show for a share of the £40,000 Express Eventing 2011 Final prize pot. That’s 40 percent of the total Express Eventing prize money.
The Express Eventing 2011 Final rider line-up includes former Badminton and Burghley winner as well as Express Eventing 2008 winner Oliver Townend, three times winner at Express Eventing 2001 Qualifiers Matthew Wright and Chinese Olympian Alex Hua Tian.
The Express Eventing 2011 Final, following the format of the Qualifiers, will consist of three arena-based disciplines: freestyle ‘dressage to music’, cross country and showjumping. The excitement among the spectators, riders and qualifier hosting venues of Bolesworth, Lincolnshire, Blenheim and Gatcombe has been palpable. All four Express Eventing Qualifiers have had thrilling finishes - with the final result only being known as the last rider jumped the last fence!
