Lucinda Fredericks

Lucinda Fredericks wowed the crowd in the sunshine on Express Eventing Sunday at The CLA Game Fair. After entertaining a large crowd on the Saturday evening, as she gave an impromptu taste of things to come, she practised her dressage to music in the sunset, on the legendary mare Headley Britannia. The invincible pairing then went on to lead throughout the three phases, despite fierce competition from fellow Olympians Sam Griffiths, riding for Australia and Vittoria Panizzon who represented Italy.

The delight at bringing Brit out of retirement for this spectacular 'one seat, sees all' competition was evident for all to see, with both horse and rider clearly having a wonderful time as they received the winners trophy from The Pure Feed Company, who sponsored the top three prizes. Lucinda commented that this was the perfect competition for Brit who at twenty, and officially retired from top competition, still showed why she is one of the most famous and popular event horses of all times.

Top placed British rider was Carol Pearson riding Major Promise in fourth place and first time Express Eventing riders included former Badminton winner Paul Tapner, Spencer Sturmey and Rebecca Howe, whose sixth place finish was a fitting reward for her as she returned to the sport after a recent accident.

Fiona Hobby, Emily Baldwin, Julia Dungworth and Kevin McNab completed the list of eleven athletes who were dressed immaculately in bespoke cross country tops with sleeves that were customised with each of the participants cross country colours. These were supplied by Official Clothing Partner Equetech and can be ordered from their website www.equetech.com
