Express Eventing is to join forces with the World’s leading country sports event. The Express Eventing Series 2011 which see dressage to music, cross country and showjumping being completed in one arena and is to hold a fourth qualifying event at the CLA Game Fair at Blenheim Palace.

The Oxfordshire based qualifier will be held on Sunday 24th July 2011 in addition to three other qualifying events; Bolesworth Showjumping Classic and Country Fair, The Lincolnshire Show, The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park. The final will be held at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham’s LG Arena on 4th October.

The CLA Game Fair qualifier will boast a prize pot of £10,000 and is expected to attract some of Eventing’s top names.

Stephen Renouard, Equestrian Director at Express Eventing explained how this additional qualifier will boost the sport’s profile further. “The announcement this morning of the CLA Game Fair qualifier is another huge step for the sport of Express Eventing. To be integrated within such a huge show takes forward our aim of bringing this sport to a new audience. To be part of the World’s largest country sport show really is quite special for us and puts our sport in front of a potential 140,000 visitors from the UK and abroad, helping to achieve our aim of bringing this sport to a new audience.’

The Express Eventing Series 2011 retains the re-shaped format used last year which appealed to the participating athletes and spectators. In addition the 2011 Series is open to any qualifying combination, rather than being a purely invitational concept as in previous years. There will be sixteen places in each qualifier; eight places will be reserved for young riders and eight for senior riders with the top placed from each group going forward to the final.
