Express Eventing reveal first six of Magnificent Seven
to lead teams at HorseWorldLive! - 23 July 2012

A list of top International names from the world of eventing has been released today by Tricorn Events – the company behind the thrilling, ‘one seat, sees all’, compact version of the sport of eventing – Express Eventing.

Seven Team Principals will compete with a second athlete at the HorseWorldLive show at Excel on Express Eventing Saturday – 17th November 2012. More details of the competition format and the seventh Team Principal will be released soon. Riders will contest each round of the Series, earning points both as an individual, and for their respective teams.

Express Eventing are pleased to present six (of the seven) principal riders - some of whom are expected to compete in the London Olympics – Clayton Fredericks (Aus), Harry Meade (GBR), Fiona Hobby (GBR), Sam Griffiths (Aus), Matthew Wright (GBR) and Mark Todd (NZ).

Stephen Renouard, Equestrian Director for Tricorn said today: “HorseWorldLive will provide a marvellous stage for the Series, which continues to evolve and grow in popularity with riders and audiences alike. After the cancellation of so many outdoor events already this season because of the weather, we are looking forward to staging a top class competition without the fear of rain!”

The Team Principals will now be looking to select their Team members, with some already deciding who they would like to partner to give themselves the best possible chance of winning one of the top prizes in the sport of Eventing.

Mark Todd, double Olympic gold medallist, winner of Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials 2011 and an
Express Eventing competitor in 2008 and 2011, explained: “Express Eventing is a great competition and something I really look forward to. Having just missed out on qualifying for the final last year. I am determined to be up with the leaders this time round and I already know who I will choose to be on my Team, and which horses we will use.’’

The 2011 Series saw the competition take place at prestigious locations around the UK, attended by over 400,000 visitors. HorseWorldLive will be the first of four rounds of the 2012-13 Series, with the final taking place in the Autumn of 2013.
